Orchard Park is one of three Hull areas chosen for the government’s Pride in Place programme — alongside Boulevard & St Andrews and Greatfield — with each area in line for up to £20 million over the next ten years.
What makes this programme different is who decides. Through a local Neighbourhood Board, it is residents — not politicians — who will shape how the money is spent, focusing on what matters most to the community. A chair for the Orchard Park board was appointed in March 2026, and engagement with local people is under way.
Orchard Park sits right on the edge of University Ward, and many of the people I speak to live, shop or volunteer there. My message is simple: if you live in the area, get involved. This is a once-in-a-generation chance to decide what your neighbourhood becomes.
If you would like help finding the board or having your say, get in touch and I will point you in the right direction.
